About Everyday Calc
Everyday Calc is a collection of free online tools for ordinary calculations: percentages, measurements, project quantities and arithmetic estimates. The aim is to make the calculation transparent by showing the inputs, formula and a worked example beside each tool.
Calculation methodology
Calculations use JavaScript Number arithmetic in your browser. Results are rounded for display to a maximum of 12 significant digits. The unrounded result is used within each calculation. Whole-item quantity tools explicitly round up where stated, such as tile counts and flooring packs.
Assumptions matter
Geometry tools assume the ideal shapes described. DIY tools estimate quantities rather than specify construction requirements. Money tools use the rates and values you enter; they do not retrieve current tariffs, tax rules, market prices or lender offers. US customary and UK imperial volume units are labelled separately.
Checking an answer
Compare the input units with the labels, read the formula and use the worked example to understand what is included. Check important results independently, especially where rounding, measurements or real-world conditions affect a decision.
Quality checks
The site build checks every specialist calculator with its example inputs, verifies unique URLs and runs reference cases for selected calculations. These checks reduce mistakes but do not guarantee that every possible input is appropriate. No professional certification or external endorsement is claimed.
Privacy
No account is needed. Calculator inputs are processed locally. Read the privacy information for details about browser storage and hosting.
