Percentage of a number

Calculate a sale price after a percentage discount. See the discount formula and a worked example.
A 25% discount on a price of 100 saves 25, leaving a sale price of 75. Multiply the original price by the remaining percentage to calculate the amount to pay.
price × (1 − discount ÷ 100)
Applying the formula to these values gives 75 .
Successive discounts do not add together: 20% off followed by 10% off leaves 72% of the original price.
