How to convert time units
Nanoseconds × 1e-9 ÷ 0.000001 = Microseconds. Factors are relative to seconds.
Multiply your input by its scale factor, then divide by the output unit’s factor. All factors below are expressed in seconds per one unit. Some factors have been rounded to the precision shown.
| Unit | Factor in seconds |
|---|---|
| Nanoseconds | 1e-9 |
| Microseconds | 0.000001 |
| Milliseconds | 0.001 |
| Seconds | 1 |
| Minutes | 60 |
| Hours | 3600 |
| Days | 86400 |
| Weeks | 604800 |
| Fortnights | 1209600 |
| Julian years (365.25 days) | 31557600 |
Conventions
Days mean 24 hours and weeks mean seven days. A Julian year is exactly 365.25 days here, not a calendar-year date calculation.
